Chicago Work Trip…

Hi everyone! I’m excited to share my recent work trip to Chicago with y’all! Every time I come to this city I leave a bit more refreshed and I love how close it is to Indy! I love traveling and Chicago is definitely on a must see destination for anyone who has never been! I’ve been here a handful of times but this particular trip there was extra special as it was my first design trip with work! I started a new job with Drapery Street at the Indiana Design Center this past October. My love of interior design has just grown even more doing it professionally now! Having my passion for interiors fill my work day makes my heart smile. How we spend our time is so important and feeling rewarded and enlightened are my “everyday” feelings helping clients make their window dreams come true! Now, back to the trip details:) We drove to Chicago early last Monday for an a quick overnight and boy was it fun! Caffeine filled, we hit the Chicago Merchandise Mart for the day to select fabrics and took in the window displays filled with inspiring design! After, we caught some of the city views walking to the Tortoise Supper Club for pre-dinner drinks! I love a fun happy hour spot, don’t you?! We later had dinner at RL, a bucket list place for a few of us in the group! Their baked cheese appetizer is a must order y’all! Simply delicious! Between the yummy food, wine and after dinner coffee, I was thrilled with our experience dining there! I was also ready for some much needed rest after the busy day. We stayed at the Ambassador on the Gold Coast! The chandelier design in the lobby was just stunning! We headed back to Indy bright and early Tuesday morning but not before a needed Starbucks stop:) The trip a wonderful 24 hours and my boss planned a great trip! I packed very light for this trip… well light for me, three pairs of shoes and three outfits. But all that coordinate with each other! It makes changing a piece for dinner of repeat wearing an item the next day so easy! Probably my favorite item I packed for this trip was my trench coat! I scored it under $50! It’s by the A New Day line for target! The weather was rainy and I wanted a great layering item that made me feel pulled together all day running around the city. Linking it for y’all below!

Thanks for stopping by!
