Whose ready for sweater weather?! This girl! We’ve had a heat wave in Indy so it’s delayed my ability to start breaking in sweaters. I love sweaters! Whether it’s a fitted ribbed one with lace belle sleeves or a cardigan, there’s nothing cozier! Something about the fall leaves in the air, a latte and that cooler weather gives me all the cozy feels! I did a closet edit earlier this week which I typically do this at the end of every season! I let go of anything that’s looking rugged. As I’ve gotten older this list amount has decreased because I’ve made better investment piece choices. The way you take care of sweaters has a lot to do with how long they last. I made the mistake of washing one this past year that completely ruined it. As far as patterns and colors go with my timeless style, I tend to do solid colors in most things with the exception of stripes, dots or animal prints… all of which never go out of style. I am breaking down my three of my favorite sweater styles for y’all to shop below! With the amount of choices out there, it can be hard to narrow down what exactly your wardrobe needs. When it comes to deciding what type of sweaters to purchase, here are a few guidelines I go by:
~ Pick a few sweaters in neutral colors that coordinate with everything. These tend to be black, camel, cream or navy.
~ Pick a few sweaters that you can tuck into jeans or skirts. Fitted sweaters look amazing tucked into a flared skirt or pair of skinny jeans.
~ Pick a few sweaters you can wear over dresses and leggings. These tend to be longer cardigans.
I hope these guidelines help and create a better shopping experience!
Thanks for stopping by!
