Happy Thursday y’all! In honor of the last day of summer, I’m sharing my favorite summer dress and also some personal growth I’ve had this past season! First let’s dive into this blue Vici Dolls number! I fell in love with this dress at first sight. I love a timeless maxi in a bolder hue. It also twirls which is a bonus! I ordered this dress for our Michigan trip but ended up wearing it for a fun shoot with one of Indy’s best photographers! The ruffle and cross cross detail at the top add such a girlie vibe. It also pairs nicely with a white cardigan or white summer jacket. My favorite thing about this dress is its timeless appeal! I tend to invest in these types of pieces that I can style different ways. Second, personal growth! Here’s looking back at a few ways I’ve grown this summer season.
1) I’ve become braver! There are creative projects that have been weighing on my heart I’ve been wanting to go after and towards the end of the summer, I decided to take the plunge and go for it. Sometimes we can get in our own way of reaching goals and fear plays a part of that. So I’m excited to explore those creative projects with no fear this fall! I’ve already done a couple. One was relaunching my blog and I couldn’t be happier with the new vision.
2) I’ve learned a deeper level of patience. This mainly is contributed to our sweet Alfred:) He’s pushed my patience with his behavior some days and taught me that it takes more time to accomplish things than we think. I’ve also learned this with our home search. I do look forward to that day I sip coffee in our new home we find but until then to be thankful for the condo we do have that is going to be so easy to move out of.
3) I’ve learned to enjoy the moment more. This one seems simple but can be soooo difficult for the planner in me. I’m always thinking ahead and recently am doing better to just soak up the moment rather than think about the next one. One method that helps tremendously is setting a daily priority list. It helps my focus and helps me to let go also.
4) And last but not least, I’ve grown in my marriage. They say the first year can be hard and I won’t lie some moments were. It’s two people from different worlds coming together to form one life. And being so overindependent from my fostercare background, I have fought little things just because of that trait. But the goodness and joy this marriage has brought into my heart is remarkable! My husband and I pray together and I believe that foundation opens up new levels of appreciation. I also love learning new details about him and him me… although my silly dance moves when I’m ecstatic about something he could probably do without:)
I hope everyone has had a wonderful summer! Even tho I am a southern girl at heart, I’m looking forward to taking on the cooler Midwest weather and the fall fashion!
Thanks for stopping by!
